TV ANGEL was executed in watercolor and india ink on the wall of my home (at the time) at 1929 N Cambridge Ave in Miwaukee. The Home has since been sold and I am sure the work was painted over. I have also now learned not to paint on the walls when I am renting!
TV ANGEL stemmed from my frustration with the layout of furniture in the living room I shared with my two roomates. I felt the dynamics of the room allowed for a much more creative layout then either one of them would allow. Their arguement centered around the fact that all chairs and couches should face the television, as it was the focal point of the room. Losing the war over furniture arrangement, I decided the best I could do was lend a sarcastic comment to the idea of TV as a rooms dominating feature, and designed the shape of the angel to act as a halo around our television at the time.
I have not lived with a tv for the past year, and yes, I do miss The Simpsons.
